Functional nutrition recognizes everyone has a unique biochemistry. In a word - yes. I have been conducting sessions over the phone for 15 plus years, even prior to the use of the wonderful technology available today.  Video, Skype, Conference Call recordings and Desk top sharing, the phone is often a great vehicle for consultations. You save the time and expense of travel, have an easier time scheduling your appointments and have an opportunity to share without feeling awkward. My clients have had the benefit of my unique expertise anywhere  in the country and abroad.  You have the opportunity to have a recording of the session, to have a web cam video session where we can see each other or when  needed we can use a remote viewing option to assist you with the emwave® program or when I am teaching.  We do this in the convenience of your home and or office allowing you control over your time and privacy.

Your heart is more than a physical pump. And yes, by itself, this is quite fantastic! Like many organs in your body, your heart has its own system of communicating with the rest of the body. The heart however has the strongest energy field,  extending out from the body 12-15 feet.  It also initiates communication with the entire body to bring about stress relief and personal transformation. Whether you connect with your heart in prayer, meditation or through the system of Heartmath™, your heart provides a deep source of wisdom, peace and balance. Your thinking brain has limits and is unable to unhook you from the fast track trigger that gets initiated with the stress response. It is actually WHY you are triggered in the first place!

Your heart communicates with the rest of the body in a way that was once not thought possible. Think about it, most people have been taught that knowledge comes through an intellectual pursuit. If you wanted to connect to a deeper wisdom, you pursued religion. Today both science and the wise mystics recognize the heart has a language and is able  to "persuade" the rest of the body when engaged.  If the world today were not in such a gridlock of time and demands, the heart's message might be more easily heard.

In another amazing research project, Dr. Pearsall, psychoneuroimmunologist, identified 5 "Brain Fallacies" indicating that the brain tends to dominate at the expense of better, more meaningful interactions with the world around us. With heart disease the number 1 killer in this country, it would seem that the sooner, we can accept and connect with the dominion of the heart, the better we are as individuals and society in general.

Drs. Schwartz and Russek, researchers on dynamic systems memory theory, which says that our body is constantly communicating with itself, capable of transforming or altering itself in the process.  Their research continues that  the heart sends out patterns of info-energy throughout the body so that every cell is influenced by this. The field of cardio-energetics contributes information and research regarding the heart's responsiveness.

The "notion" of an intelligent heart is now more than that with decades of research and researchers recognizing that the heart communicates with the rest of the body both energetically and through thousands of messenger molecules relaying information throughout. Now that we know this communication takes place, why not deliberately and with purpose communicate for the highest good? This is the nature of a heart based approach to communication, leadership and stress management.

An adaptogen is a product that is thought to increase resistance to stress, trauma, anxiety and fatigue. The term  refers to  rejuvenating herbs, qi tonics, other restorative products. One specific characteristic of adaptogen is that it brings that body back to homeostasis or balance.

The antioxidant values of foods listed are expressed in ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) units, a unit of measurement for antioxidants developed by the National Institute on Aging in the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  The higher the ORAC score, the higher the antioxidant support. The average person in the U.S. consumes about 1,200 ORAC units daily.  5,000 ORAC units daily are recommended for optimal health!

• Resveratrol is a protective compound produced by grapevines and other plants, in response to environmental stresses. It is a polyphenol, a natural antioxidant, which protects cells against naturally occurring substances known as free radicals.

• Resveratrol is a phytoestrogen. Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring plant-derived compounds that are structurally similar to estrogen. Plant estrogens are weaker forms of estrogen, yet are able to support thesame physiological activity.

• As a phytoestrogen it supports women’s health during and after menopause.  It is believed that Resveratrol has a positive effect on bone and support the health of bone-building cells (osteoblasts). Therefore, resveratrol may help to balance the bone building process as women age.

• Resveratrol helps support cardiovascular health because it contains polyphenolic compounds that are known to  possess antioxidant and vascular supporting properties. In test tube and animal studies, Resveratrol decreased the “stickiness” of blood platelets and helped blood vessels remain open and flexible.  As an antioxidant, it helps to prevent unwanted oxidation of LDL cholesterol from free radical damage.
